My despatch No. 2 [of January 14th] and Washington telegram to Foreign Office No. 685 [of February 13th: Hong Kong to Manila evacuation].
You should inform His Majesty's Ambassador at Washington so soon as articles reach you, and concert with him date for addressing formal letters of thanks in accordance with recommendations of Washington telegram 685. Presentation of articles should follow despatch of letters as closely as possible. If you are in any doubt as to correct procedure you might consult United States High Commissioner unofficially.
